Add many coins from photos

Use Photo intake for coins that are not in CoinManagerPro yet. For coins you already have, see Add photos to coins.

Credits

The AI identifies each coin in the photos. Each coin it identifies costs 5 credits. A tray photo with several coins costs 5 credits for each coin. The batch page shows the "Credits used".

Start a batch

  1. Go to Photo intake.
  2. Click "New batch".
  3. Select the type of photos:
    • "One coin per photo": each photo shows one coin, one side or both sides.
    • "Obverse and reverse": two photos for each coin, the obverse and then the reverse.
    • "Tray photos": each photo shows several coins. Each coin becomes its own item.
    • "Trays, front and back": two photos for each tray, the front and then the back. Then select how you turn the tray over: "Each coin turned over in its place" or "The page turned over".
  4. Optional: enter a "Name", select a "Purchase", and select the "Warehouse" and "Zone".
  5. Click "Create batch".

Add the photos

  1. On the batch page, click "Add photos". You can also drop photos on the page.
  2. Select the photos. Use JPEG, PNG or WebP, 15 MB or smaller.

For "Obverse and reverse", add an even number of photos. Name the files so each obverse comes before its reverse, such as 001a and 001b.

For "Trays, front and back", add an even number of photos. Name the files so the front of each tray comes before its back, such as tray1a and tray1b. Keep each coin in its place when you turn the tray over.

Trays and mint marks

In a tray photo, put one coin in each pocket. The AI finds each coin and reads it from its own part of the photo. Many series have the mint mark on the reverse, such as Morgan dollars, Peace dollars, and Mercury dimes. A photo of the front of a tray cannot show these mint marks. For these series, use "Trays, front and back". Check the mint mark of each coin in the review.

The identification starts when the photos upload. The page shows the coins "Identifying", "To review" and "Accepted".

Review the coins

In "Review", the app shows one coin at a time with the AI's fields.

  1. Check and change the fields, such as "Title", "Year", "Coin type", "Category", "Grade", "Certificate" and "Value per coin ($)".
  2. Click "Accept" to save the coin to your inventory. Or click "Skip".

When a coin you have has the same certificate number, select "Update ..." to update that coin, or "New coin" to make a new coin.

Keys: Enter or A accepts, S skips, E edits, the arrow keys move between coins.

Failed photos

"Failed photos" lists the photos the AI did not identify. Click "Retry all" to try again. You can also enter these coins by hand in the review.
